Department of Life Sciences

The Department of Life Sciences offers interdisciplinary undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across modern and classical life-science disciplines. We combine rigorous laboratory training, computational and field skills, and research-led teaching to prepare students for careers in research, industry, policy and environmental stewardship.

The Department of Life Sciences brings together Specialization in Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics and Environmental Sciences — to deliver holistic education and high-impact research. Our faculty pursue translational and fundamental research in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, ecology, environmental science and applied biotechnology. Teaching emphasises hands-on laboratory work, field-based learning, data-driven inquiry and collaborative projects that bridge disciplines and sectors.
