Subharti University upholds the motto "Education, Service, Culture, and Nationalism," embodying a philosophy that fosters comprehensive development in students and aims to cultivate ideal citizens. The University is dedicated to creating exemplary individuals, with the Department of Languages playing a pivotal role in this endeavor. Established in 2019 as an affiliated department, the Department of Languages has since made significant contributions to the study, teaching, and research of languages and literature.
The guiding principle of the department is inspired by the verse from Rigveda: "आ नो भद्रा क्रतवो यन्तु विश्वतः" (Let noble thoughts come to us from every side), reflecting the rich Indian cultural heritage that places immense value on knowledge. Language serves as the medium through which this ideal is realized, and the Department of Languages has been exemplary in its efforts towards the teaching and learning of both Indian and foreign languages.
In alignment with the new education policy, the department currently offers undergraduate courses in Hindi, Sanskrit, and English. Furthermore, it provides postgraduate, pre-Ph.D., and Ph.D. courses in these languages. The department also offers a variety of certificate courses in Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Pali, and French. Notably, the Hindi, Sanskrit, and Pali certificate courses are specifically designed to enhance the linguistic capabilities of international students, enabling those from various countries to learn these languages according to their interests. It is particularly gratifying to note the keen interest shown by foreign students in learning Hindi.
