UNIVERSITY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CELL

Swami Vivekanand Subharti University since its inception has made a mammoth effort in the field of research to make a positive impact on society. In order to, further streamline the University Quality Research output, to make it more dynamic and financially viable, the University Research Council and Advisory Board has been set up to smoothen the functioning of the Research & Development Cell in the University to promote research, innovations and register these innovative ideas, for the betterment of humanity and the society at large. Given that, University Research Council and Advisory Body" (URCAB) will function under the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor as Chairperson. The University Research Council and Advisory Body will meet half yearly i.e. once in six months and a minimum of 70% of members attendance will be mandatory. The University Research Council and Advisory Body is the final authority to review and update University Management on Research, Innovation, Start-up, Patent related activities, and getting grants from outside agencies.

Considering the vast scope of the University Research Council and Advisory Body, there exists three clusters of the URCAB namely Health Sciences Cluster, STEM Cluster and Cluster for Humanities, Law and Management. Each of the above will be headed by one Chairperson and having one member Secretary and minimum five members. All the above three clusters of URCAB will meet every three months and will submit their recommendations/reports to Hon'ble VC office with a copy to member- Secretary-URCAB. However, URCAB will meet every six months to observe and analyse the progress made by its sub units and to discuss strategies and plans for furthering of research at the University level.

Every college/department will have a College Research Committee where HOI's/ HOD's will appoint an experienced and well-versed faculty member as Chairman, while 2 to 3 young energetic faculty/students with research bent of mind as members and a member Secretary. The College Research Committee will meet every month to evaluate college research performance and suggest improvements to HOI with a copy of minutes of the meeting forwarded to the chairperson of their respective research cluster with a soft copy to the office of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor. In the second stage, the Chairman of the College Research Committee by default becomes a member of the respective research cluster, a sub unit of the University Research Council URC AB giving every college a representation in the respective cluster.

UNIVERSITY RESEARCH COUNCIL & ADVISORY BOARD (URCAB)

The Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut will have a University Research Council & Advisory Board (URCAB) for research advice and to promote and improve the research quality. The University Research Council and Advisory Board will comprise of external and internal members of the University. The nominated external members should be distinguished/eminent scientist/faculty from various disciplines of national /International repute from national institutions or national government governing bodies. The Research Council and Advisory Board will give advice to the University Academic Council for promotion of innovation, and research in order to strengthen the university's research ecosystem.
