Meerut district is an important district of Uttar Pradesh in terms of archaeology, mythology, history, and culture. Many historical and religious buildings still exist in the present districts located in Kuru Mahajanapada, which tells the story of their pride. Many historical and traditional fairs are also held in these districts today. Historically, the authenticity of this area is its historical and religious tourism.
Due to migration from the historical and cultural heritage, people living in Kuru Mahajanapada have forgotten the history of this region. We, Shaheed Baba Deep Singh, Department of Home Science, Faculty of Arts & Social Science, established a museum keeping in mind the following points:
To showcase how technology that aids us has evolved over a period of time.
To create awareness about various ancient practices and their importance and uses.
To impart knowledge regarding the five branches of home science under one umbrella with cultural touch.
To try and connect people with our culture and our ancestors’ knowledge of arts & science, following the Subharti motto of encouraging and protecting our culture and heritage that in turn promotes Seva and Sanskar.
Hope this initiative brings out the best of our expectations with this museum and fulfils its purpose to spread awareness & knowledge and to make a cultural impact amongst the students and other members of the University.
