Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law (SARPA-SIL) i.e. Subharti Law College (Faculty of Law, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut) is among one of the top colleges of Law in the State of Uttar Pradesh. Subharti Law College was started in the year 2002. The Bar Council of India, under the Advocates Act 1961, duly accorded its approval to the University and the latest approval has been given vide its letter no. BCI: D: 328/2020 (LE/App/Afflin), 30.07.2020 to run the various academic courses under the Faculty of Law.
The College was established in the pious memory of Sardar Patel, first Home Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister, an eminent lawyer and the Iron Man of India. The magnificent building of Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law is located in lush green surroundings, with spacious and well-furnished smart classrooms, equipped with necessary instructional Aids such as overhead projector, whiteboards, Smart Boards, Microphones and LCD Projector for effective communication and interaction with the students, to facilitate smart classroom discussion and project presentation. It prides itself in possessing a rich Library with I.T. and Wi-Fi facilities, a vibrant campus and excellent faculty which makes it one of the selected institutions which impart quality legal education in India.
Moreover, the whole college is Wi-Fi empowered with a 24x7 internet connection. It has a Moot Court Hall designed like a courtroom to conduct Moot Court Training and Competitions. The programme seeks to promote multi-disciplinary analysis of the socio-legal problems by designing its course structure and teaching methods to realize these objectives. The methods of teaching in the Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law include lectures, discussions, case law analysis, moot court training, project assignments, free legal aid camps, internship programmes and placement opportunities. Furthermore, the college organizes National/International Seminars and Conferences on contemporary socio-political-legal issues, conducts clinical courses and trains students in legal research and legal writing. By the time a student completes his/her five-year programme, he/she will be fully versed with the required subject knowledge and practical experience in the field of law to become a full-fledged responsible member of the legal profession.
Twelve Batches of B.A.LL.B., Eight batches of LL.M. & Five Batches of M. Phil have already passed out and every student is successfully professing as lawyers or judges in either the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, District Courts or with LPOs and MNCs, Corporate Legal Departments etc.
