The Subharti Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities (SDLH) was established at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut on the basis that actual interdisciplinary approach may best be achieved through the various courses of applied and social sciences. Subharti Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities (SDLH) is the center of vibrant intellectuals and it cultivates professional skills, life-skills, and leadership qualities in their students which are fundamental values of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. The department comprises effective pedagogy and consummate environment for advanced research in social sciences. The department offers Under Graduate, Post-Graduates, and Ph.D. programs. The students are encouraged and guided to inculcate the spirit of exploration and learning across their disciplines. The faculty members are well qualified and connoisseur in their domain. Teaching and assessing are intertwined. The curricula have been designed that augment practical education, human values, sacraments, and innovative mindsets in the students. This multidimensional approach of learning is indeed a need to adapt changes and overcoming political & societal challenges that thrive at the global level. Keeping emotional and social intelligence at the centre for our learning, the department rigorously promotes experiential learning through its mandatory internships, field visits, community activities, hands-on training, guest lectures, brain-storming sessions, tutorials, seminars and workshops etc. The department's holistic approach to creating, disseminating and promoting an inclusive culture has successfully redefined educational experiences among the students.  The department envisages helping students, broaden their horizons by studying different subjects that help them prepare for rapidly changing professional world. The faculty aims to enable students to be proactive rather than reactive. The faculty members motivate students to become more insightful and empathetic towards their peers and fellow citizens. The exposure given to students is meant to create gateway for higher education, research, global learning, internship, industry requirements, job prospects and entrepreneurship.
