Subharti University Launches Dedicated Center for Differently-Abled Individuals
Committed to Inclusion and Empowerment
Swami Vivekananda Subharti University has always championed the cause of inclusivity and equal opportunities for all. In alignment with our mission to serve humanity, we are proud to announce the inauguration of a new Center for Differently-Abled Individuals on January 2, 2021. This initiative is a significant step toward ensuring the holistic development of individuals with physical and mental impairments, providing them with the platform to excel in both academic and non-academic spheres.
Our Mission:
At Subharti University, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to make their mark in the world, regardless of the challenges they face. Our new center is designed to support students with a wide range of needs, including:
- Visual impairments
- Intellectual disability
- Learning disabilities
- Mobility impairments
- Hearing impairments
- Chronic health conditions (including allergies)
- Psychological disabilities etc.
- Through this center, we aim to ensure that all students, regardless of their abilities, have access to the full spectrum of educational and extracurricular opportunities the university offers.
Our Priorities:
The Disability Consulting Service will serve as the first point of contact for any disability-related inquiries or support needs. Whether it’s assisting students in their higher education journey or sensitizing the entire university community to the special needs of these students, we are committed to creating a nurturing and understanding environment for all.
Long-Term Support for Lasting Impact: We understand that individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions often face unique challenges that require careful and long-term planning. That’s why we encourage students and families to reach out to the center early, ensuring that the necessary accommodations and support are in place to foster success from the start.
Changing Perspectives on Disability: At Subharti University, we view disability as a matter of perception. It’s not just about limitations; it’s about empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and fully participate in the world around them. Disability refers to any condition of the body or mind (impairment) that may make certain activities (activity limitation) and interactions with the world (participation restrictions) more challenging. Our goal is to remove these barriers and unlock the full potential of every individual.
At Subharti Disability Advisory Service Centre, we believe that every student deserves an equal opportunity to succeed, thrive, and contribute to the campus community. The Disability Support Center is here to ensure that students with disabilities experience an accessible, inclusive, and empowering university journey. We are your partners in unlocking potential, overcoming challenges, and achieving academic excellence.
