Career Opportunities
-
Biomedical Engineer: You can pursue your career as Biomedical Engineer who design innovative biomedical equipment, devices and medical software such as artificial organs, diagnostic machines, prosthesis etc. which enhance the quality and effectiveness of health care facilities for the effective treatment of patients.
-
Biomedical Technologists: Biomedical technologist study different microorganisms and their effects on other living organisms. Finding cures and the production of medications are primary designations of these individuals. They work in the Pharmaceutical industry.
-
Microbiologist: You can get opportunities as microbiologists work in laboratories for research and development to find new drugs and cures and gain more knowledge about microorganisms. They cultivate microbe cultures, track their growth, collect samples from various locations, conduct trials, and write research reports. Microbiologists observe these microorganisms and record their characteristics. They study their DNA sequences, develop antibodies, or manipulate genomes for industrial/chemical production.
-
Biochemist: Graduate can aspire his career as biochemist who have expertise in the study of chemical and physical properties of living things and biological processes such as cell growth, cell development, heredity and disease. They experiment with the living cells, their chemical traits, molecular composition, characteristics, and metabolisms. Biochemists synthesize proteins and other biochemical molecules. They research external factors (temperature, pH level, drugs, chemicals) that influence these processes.
-
Biostatistician: The field is a combination of mathematics and statistics with biology. Biostatisticians coordinate clinical trials, collect data and deal with numerical data and its interpretation. They need excellent arithmetic skills, computer knowledge to handle data processing, and problem-solving abilities. Biostatisticians have to manage multiple in-depth reports and present data for research and developmental purposes for the organization.
-
Epidemiologist: Epidemiologists study pandemics, patterns of disease outbreaks, reasons, and causes and keep records of various pathogens and methods of containment and cure. This field is essential for public awareness and promoting health, and preventing viral outbreaks. Epidemiologists can also predict pandemics and help decrease the negative consequences and outcomes.
-
Food Technologist: Food Technologists maintain the quality standards (flavor, cleanliness, packaging) of food production in an organization. They check and monitor the entire manufacturing process. Observational skills, record keeping, and knowledge about different steps in the production process and cuisines are some of the essential skills needed by a Food Technologist.
-
Fermentation Scientist: You can join the fermentation industry as who utilize the microorganisms. They work in brewers and similar production factories and are majorly involved in the food and antibiotics manufacturing process. These scientists also handle fermenters, ensure cross contaminations do not happen, and create products of the best quality.
-
Lab Technician: By utilizing your laboratory skills, you can aspire your career as lab technician. A lab technician works in the laboratories. Their responsibilities include managing and managing the equipment & instruments and assisting during experiments and research.
-
Pharmaceutical Industry: Biotech and Biochemistry graduates can work in the pharmaceutical industry as a drug analyst, formulation scientist, medicinal chemist, or quality assurance officer. The pharmaceutical industry offers diverse opportunities for chemists. You can work in drug discovery, formulation development, analytical chemistry, process development, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs. This field involves developing and improving medications and ensuring their safety and efficacy.
-
Analytical Laboratories: Many laboratories, including government, private, and research institutions, require biotechnologist, microbiologist, biochemist and bioinformaticians to perform analytical testing and research. This includes areas such as environmental analysis, forensic science, food testing, and more.
-
Academics and Research: Pursuing higher education such as a master's or Ph.D. in biotechnology can lead to opportunities in academic research. You can work as a research associate, research assistant, or pursue a career in teaching and academia.
-
Patent Law: With a combination of a science background and legal knowledge related to chemical inventions and work as a patent agent, attorney, or consultant. This field combines legal expertise with scientific knowledge to protect intellectual property rights.
-
Scientific Technical Writing: You can utilize your scientific knowledge to communicate complex ideas to a broader audience. This can involve science journalism, technical writing, content creation, or working with science-focused organizations.
-
Research and Development (R&D): Biotech, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics and Microbiology graduates can work in research and development in industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food quality analysis, dairy industry and manufacturing.
-
Plant Molecular Biologist: Plant Molecular Biology comes under the broad field of Agricultural Biotechnology. These Biologists' primary objectives involve researching plant cells and tissues and analyzing the effects of chemical, physical, and environmental conditions. They develop methods to enhance the growth and yield of various plants and find solutions to prevent crop diseases. Plant Molecular Biologists also study the effects of different pollutants on plants and their produce.
-
Entrepreneurship: You can pursue your career as entrepreneur. You can consider to start your own biofertilizers, biopesticide, molecular diagnosis lab.
