BOARD OF STUDIES (BoS)

The Board of Studies (BoS) is a statutory academic body in college, primarily responsible for designing, reviewing, and updating the curriculum of academic programs. It ensures that courses remain relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with academic and industry standards.

FUNCTIONS OF THE BOARD OF STUDIES (BoS)::

  1. Curriculum Design and Development:
    • Formulates and revises the syllabi of various courses and programs.
    • Introduces new courses or subjects based on academic and industry trends.

  2. Academic Planning:
    • Ensures alignment of course content with the Program Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs).
    • Recommends the structure and pattern of examinations, credit system, and evaluation methods.

  3. Quality Enhancement:
    • Suggests innovative teaching methodologies, including ICT integration.
    • Promotes outcome-based education (OBE) and continuous improvement.

  4. Industry and Research Linkages:
    • Includes industry experts and external academicians to align curriculum with professional needs.
    • Recommends value-added courses, internships, and skill development programs.

  5. Review and Feedback:
    • Periodically reviews curriculum based on feedback from stakeholders (students, alumni, faculty, industry, etc.).
    • Ensures the curriculum meets national and global academic standards.

  6. Approval and Recommendations:
    • Submits curriculum proposals and changes for approval by the Academic Council.
    • Recommends reference books, laboratory manuals, and other learning resources.
