It gives me immense pleasure to lead the Subharti Department of Liberal Arts & Humanities (SDLH) which is determined towards the goal of providing quality education to the students to attain academic excellence. We "Shape Minds and Shape Lives" at SDLH.

 

The department is a vivacious place for the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas in humanities and social sciences. The department is a leading centre for the study of a highly diverse range of subjects including Political Science, Sociology, History, Economics and English studies. The department is also deeply committed to teaching, innovations and holistic development of undergraduate and post graduate students and also dedicated for world class research in multiple disciplines. The department strives to promote excellence in teaching and research to benefit student’s academics and the society at large. We promote teamwork among students through projects, Assignments and co-curricular and cultural activities. Each student’s overall progress is closely monitored by the mentors and the same is communicated to their parents. Our courses are designed according to New Education Policy 2020 and they are incorporated a wide range of multidisciplinary subjects such as Political Science, Sociology, History, Economics and language and literature. We are constantly evolving, practising a pedagogy that develops a sense of social responsibility and professional commitment in our students. The teaching and learning process is technically advanced and the department is well equipped with ICT tools and modern technology. And the greatest asset of the department is its highly motivated and learned faculty. The faculty members are also involved continuously in research and development activities.  All the programmes have been designed by integrating skill based courses. SDLH follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Continuous Assessment and Grading Pattern (CAGP) for maintaining a uniform academic standard. The curriculum framework of all the programmes has been meticulously designed to meet the contemporary industry standards and is in consonance with National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).

 

Students are also facilitated to assist the professor ranked teachers and to work as research assistant in the department. The department execute various interdisciplinary and core activities such as Guest lectures, Workshops, seminars, training programs, for the academic enhancement of the students. Also, the students get benefit of the extracurricular and cultural activities, conducted in the department and at University level.  They also utilize the various facilities of the University such as transportation facility, industry visits, historical monument visits, Educational trips etc. Your visit to our university will reveal to you exciting opportunities that wait you in the department.
