Normally in big institutions where the construction work continues for a long duration the laborers from Bihar, Oddisa, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh come with their families and stay in the campus. The children of these laborers roam as a vagabond and start going to the labour work as they grow. Realizing that the children of laborers also have the right to education, MTV Trust has started a school for the laborers which provides them absolutely free education and educates them up till 6th standard. On passing 6th standard they are transferred to other schools of Subharti. The education is free to them not only at Ishwar Chandra VidyaSagar Bal Shramik School but is free to them till their parents are working in the University/under the Trust. The achievement is that one girl from amongst such children is preparing to appear in the Civil Service Examination after having passed graduation.
2. Village and Sub-urban Health Centres/Hospitals
It was realized that health services in village areas are not as per the requirements. The poor villagers are not able to go to nearby cities for getting the proper scientific treatment because of several factors including the cost factor, that they are daily earners and transport constraints.
In view of the above the Trust has established 4 health centres from the level of primary health centre to hospital with indoor facilities. Treatment and investigations is provided on a charitable basis and the huge recurring loss is subsidized by the Trust.
3. Supashyana Centre
In addition to taking care of the physical treatment of the masses the Trust has also cared for the mental well being of the people. It has thus established a centre for meditation at village Mahalwala. Through this centre effort is made to develop the character and streamline the mind to have peace.
