Bodhi Upwan, an awe-inspiring Buddhist Sanctum was Inaugurated on the birth anniversary of our magnanimous founder, Sanghmata, Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar on 16.01.22.
Sanghmata always had a positive outlook when it came to the matters of interfaith harmony. She was a firm believer that we Indians have always been and can reclaim our place in the world as a country with communal harmony and wellbeing. Thus, the day started with Interfaith Prayers offered by Union President of Kushinagar Monks Association, Most Ven. AB Gyaneshwar, General Secretary of International Buddhist Confederation New Delhi, Most Ven. Dr. Dhammapiya, Naib Sadar of Jamiat Ulema Hind of District Baghpat, Mufti Shah Alam Mazahiri, Main Granthi of Thaparnagar Gurdwara, Shri Gyani Kishan Pal Singh, National Pastor of All India Christian general assembly, Pastor Revjoe M Howard, Pratishthacharya Pandit of Hastinapur Jain Temple, Pandit Pramod Jain Shastri, Mukhya Pandit of Subharti Panchayati Mandir, Pandit Shanklanand, Former President of International Buddhist Research Institute Lucknow and Dr. Nand Ratan Thero, Secretary of All India Urdu, Tanzeem Haji Azad Saifi.
Dhamma Mother Majori Charon inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp in front of the picture of Sanghmata Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar. The program proceeded with inspirational speeches by the interfaith representatives.
Dr. Krishnamurty, trustee MTV Charitable trust and Medical Deputy Superintendent of Subharti Hospital mesmerised the audience with inspirational examples and instances between Sanghmata and him.
His vivid recollection of his mother’s words and mentor left the audience teary-eyed.
The day proceeded with the inaugural prayers offered at the Bodhi temple and under the sacred Bodhi tree subsequently. Lotus flowers and fish were released in the pond located at the entrance of the Bodhi Upwan as a symbol of peace and harmony. hundreds of butter lamps were lit as per Buddhist tradition. Hundreds of beautiful sky lanterns were released by the Subharti family at sunset to conclude the proceedings of the day.
