Swami Vivekanand Subharti University was established under the aegis of Subharti K.K.B. Charitable Trust, Meerut, under section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956. Ranked among the top 10% of Universities in India, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University is NAAC “A” Accredited and has received numerous National and International Awards. The University has over 58 MOU’s with research-driven learning.

About Institute

Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law (SARPA-SIL) has been established in the year 2002 with the permission and approval of BCI, New Delhi and State Government of UP. It has been ranked in top 25 colleges in law story of Aspire India Today, 2018. It has also received Best Academic Curriculum Award supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Youth for Human Rights and Digital School of Law, in Legal Desire Summit and Award 2018. In GHRDC law school survey 2018-we scored 1st Rank in the Category of Excellence and 4th Rank in the State of Uttar Pradesh. It has been awarded "The Best Emerging Law College" award at the 3rd National Symposium and Awards on 13th October 2019 jointly organised by “Iswar Saran Post Graduate College, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj”, “Legalpath Foundation: An Imprint of ADGMS, Prayagraj” and "Droit Penale: The Indian Law Journal on Crime and Criminology (ILJCC)". We scored ninth rank under Top Law Schools of Outstanding Excellence in GHRDC Ranking- 2019. It was Ranked 7th in Top eminent Law School by Competition Success Review (CSR) in June 2020.


The College was dedicated to the sacred memory of Sardar Patel, an Iron Man and the country’s first Home Minister and eminent lawyer. Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law is located in lush green surroundings, in a magnificent building with spacious and well-furnished classrooms, equipped with audio-visual instructional aids to facilitate classroom discussion and project presentations. It prides in possessing a rich library, with computing facilities, a vibrant campus and excellent faculty which makes it one of the best institutions for imparting legal education in India. The whole college is Wi-Fi empowered with 24x7 internet connection. It has a Moot Court Hall designed like a courtroom for the purpose of conducting Moot Court practice competitions. The programme seeks to promote multi-disciplinary analysis of the socio-legal problems by designing its course structure and teaching methods to realize these objectives. The methods of teaching in the Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law include lectures discussions, case law analysis, moot court training, project assignments, free legal aid camps, internship programs and placement opportunities. In addition, the college organizes seminars on contemporary socio-political-legal issues, conducts clinical courses and trains students in legal research and legal writing.


Fifteen Batches of B.A.LL.B. and twelve batches of LL.M. have already passed out and every student is successfully placed in various Institutes including the Supreme Court of India, various District Courts, Legal Process Outsourcing (LPOs), Multinational Companies (MNCs), Corporate Legal Departments etc.

About Meerut

The district of Meerut (which forms part of the revenue division of the same name) is named after its headquarters city and is said to be associated with earliest traditions of the Hindus according to which Maya, the father-in-law of Ravana, founded this place he called this place Mayrashtra, a name which in course of time became shortened to Meerut. Tradition has it that the district formed part of the dominions of Mahipal, king of Indraprashta and the word Meerut is associated with his name. Meerut is famously associated with the independence movement of 1857 against the British East India Company.


Meerut is also famous for its Sports Products, Rewari, Gajjak, Historical Temples and Mosques. The famous slogan "Dilli Chalo" ("Let's march to Delhi!") was first raised here.  Meerut has been famous for some historic monuments namely,

Baba Augharh Nath Temple (Kali Paltan Mandir)
The Temple situated in Meerut Cantonment area is devoted to Lord Shiva. It is said that the spark of the first war of independence of India, 1857 raged into a flame. Soldiers of the kali Paltan, a part of "British Army', often came to quench their thirst from the well in the Temple premises.

Shahid Smark and Government Freedom Struggle Museum Meerut
The Shahid Smarak Meerut devoted to Martyrs of India and specially associated with the first war for freedom of India 1857. The museum houses preserves, documents and exhibit cultural property of glorious past depicting important episode of the war of independence 1857 through paintings.

St. John Church and Cemetery
Built in Colonial British period, it is a master piece of architecture. A cemetery is situated near to Church where in one can see graves of the Britishers and their families killed during the upsurge in 1857, 9 graves are still in conserved condition and visible.

PLACES TO VISIT:
Parikshitgarh (Fort)
Parikshitgarh, also called as the Qila Parikshitgarh, is named after King Parikshit of Hastinapur. It is believed that the fort was constructed by King Parikshit, grandson of Arjuna, one of the Pandavas. In 1916, several silver coins dating back to the time of Shah Alam II were found under the staircase of the fort.

Hastinapur
Hastinapur is an ancient town which was the centre to the glorious tales of the epic Mahabharata. Situated on the banks of Ganga near Meerut in UP, Hastinapur is also the birth place of three Jain Teerthankara, and it has become an important centre of pilgrimage for the Jains.
It was the capital of Kauravas and was ruled by the Pandavas after winning the Mahabharata. From that era to this, the city has come along a long way but it is still known as the town of Mahabharata. It also has Hastinapur National Park. This sanctuary spread across an area of 2073 sq km has been a home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Gandhi Bagh/Company Garden
Gandhi Bagh is situated in Gandhi Road in Meerut Cantt which is 6 km from Meerut Railway Station. Local taxis and buses are easily available from different corners of the city to reach here. .The other name of Gandhi Bagh is Company Gardens because these were set up by the East India company on the Mall road. The important feature of these gardens is that of the evening show of musical fountain.

Bale Miyan ki Dargah
Dargah of Bale Miyan is very near to Chandi Devi Mandir. Urs is organised every year on this mazar during the Nauchandi mela. It was built by Kutubuddin Ebak in 1194.Many worshippers visit to the Dargah regularly. During the Nauchandi fair a Urus is organised every year at the Dargah.The Dargah of 'Hazrat Bale Mian', and the Temple of 'Nauchandi Devi’ are situated in such a position that they face each other. From the ancient times, the Baley Miyan Dargah and the Nauchandi fair acts as a mark of unity between two religions. During the Nauchandi fair the sound of azan from the Dargah and the temple bells together generate a divine and holy echo.

Ecological Park
Ecological Park is a scenic park located in the cantonment area of Meerut. The park is engulfed in lush greenery which makes you feel closer to nature. You can see ducks leisurely swimming in the small pond included in the park.
